My approach to Clinical Supervision is relational, thinking creatively together ‘outside of the box’. My approach encourages critical reflection on clinical cases, therapeutic interventions and attention to the emotional and ethical challenges inherent in your practice.  This could include the impact upon you from clients of transference/countertransference and the potential for burnout, your self-care is of prime importance in this process.

Relational supervision is designed to be a collaborative relationship that supports your learning and development, (as well as mine – you also bring me your experience), often incorporating elements of teaching, feedback, goal-setting, and emotional support.  This is essential for maintaining high standards of ethical practice and mandatory for counsellors and psychotherapists in line with the BACP and UKCP codes of safe working practice for both clients and psychotherapists

Clinical Supervision isn’t about surveillance or judgment, nor is it about monitoring performance or a process of evaluation. Instead, it offers a confidential and voluntary space for professional development and growth, fostering a culture of trust and continuous development.  I bring 25 years of supervised clinical experience plus a lifetime of lived experience backed up by continuous and continuing professional development.  All knowledge is to be shared!.
